Why did you decide to join the steering committee?

I’ve had a wonderful experience as a member of the Mayor’s Innovation Project.  While our meetings resorted to zoom due to the Covid pandemic, we were each able to relate to shared experiences and challenges facing our respective cities.

What makes MIP unique from other organizations?

MIP focuses on Innovation and serves as a laboratory for new ideas, which is all the more important given the unprecedented challenges of Covid-19.  We need brainstorming among our city leaders who are all facing these challenges together.

If you could give one piece of advice to a new mayor on what you’ve learned in your role, what would it be?

If your looking for a friend in City Hall, get a dog or cat.
