Paine will be taking part in the Mayors Institute on Pedestrian Safety, a program through which he’ll meet with 11 other mayors from around the country to discuss potential projects and strategies.
He says strategies to improve pedestrian safety will improve the entire community.
“When you make a business district or a neighborhood more walkable, that neighborhood and that business district, they just do better,” Paine said.
